Установка Ubuntu Mate 22.04 на системе без поддержки UEFI
Для того, чтобы поставить новую Убунту 22.04 на старые компьютеры, которые не поддерживают UEFI и GPT, нужно провести несколько нехитрых манипуляций.
Подготовить флэшку с загрузкой LEGACY, для этого можно использовать Rufus.
Загрузиться флэшки, разметить диск. Для разметки можно использовать Gparted. Далее нужно:
- Переходим в верхнее меню Gparted, устройства, создать таблицу разделов, выбираем msdos.
- Форматируем весь раздел под ext4, ставим метку boot.
Затем запускаем установщик Убунту, он предложит отформатировать диск, отказываемся, выбираем свою разметку. Ставим на наш диск точку монтирования «/», продолжаем установку. Игнорируем все уведомления об отсутствии EFI раздела.
Установка системы пройдёт не до конца, во время инсталляции граба, установка прервётся с ошибкой. Это нормально, перезагружаем систему, чтобы принудительно размонтировать диск.
Снова грузимся с флэшки и ставим Boot-Repair.

После установки выбираем первый пункт, ремонт системы. Он может ругаться, что у нас нет EFI раздела, игнорируем.
Потом бот репейр предложит список команд для удаления старой версии grub. Копируем их и выполняем в консоле, если мы запускали бот репейр через консоль, открываем новое окно.
Когда команда удаления будет выполнена жмём далее, будет предложена команда установки grub. Копируем в консоль, выполняем. Жмём далее. Когда бот репейр закончит работу, перезагружаем компьютер. Система должна грузиться в LEGACY режиме с диска MSDOS.
